Ultra-rare original poster for the Stones' greatest album.

Not a collage but a photo of a 1955 tattoo parlour wall from Robert Frank's classic book "The Americans" the bizarre cover was the creation of a stellar creative trio, with Jagger's the final say. Working with Marshall Chess on the poster, Van Hamersveld said. "why don't we take the guy with the balls in his mouth. That is the most amazing photograph I've ever seen. And doesn't it look like Charlie!"

ADAM ANT - VIVE LE ROCK 1985.

Original promo poster, 40"x60"

Adam's third album after the whirlwind rise and split of Adam and the Ants was hindered by record company under-promotion and a long delayed release which negated the chart success of the single 'Apollo 9'. The album was reissued in 2005 to greater acclaim. Producer Tony Visconti said of him "What a creative ball of energy! He was great to work with."

NEW ORDER - TECHNIQUE, 1989

Original Qwest U.S. promo poster, 36"x24"
Design by Peter Saville and Trevor Key.

Technique was New Order's first UK No.1 album.

The cover was one of Saville and Key's most intense experiments in colour, with a distinct influence from Yves Klein.

JOY DIVISION - AN IDEAL FOR LIVING, 1978.

Original Anonymous Records promo poster, 17"x24".

Rare poster for the group's debut release. The 7" single version was released in June on the band's own Enigma Records label, and a 12" version in October on Anonymous Records, for which this is the poster.

THE SEX PISTOLS - GREAT ROCK 'N' ROLL SWINDLE, 1979.

Original Virgin promo poster, 29.5"x31 1/4"

In their review of 1977 edition, the Investor's Review named the Sex Pistols as their "Young Businessmen of the Year" in honour of the "cash from chaos" they had generated. Virgin lost no time in reproducing the cover on this rare poster to promote 'The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle'.

THE CLASH - WHITE RIOT TOUR, 1977.

Original tour poster, 38.5"x29"

Fantastic original White Riot tour poster, which doubled as a plug for the first album. With the lp and 'White Riot' single out, the band, and Punk, exploded out of a small club scene into broad daylight.

American photographer Kate Simon took the famous shot of the three in an alleyway in Camden Market.

THE STRANGLERS - NO MORE HEROES, 1977.

Original 20"x30" UA promo poster

Striking poster for The Stranglers second album. The title track became one of the most played songs of the era to this day. A successful, at times controversial anomally within Punk, the band were really entirely unclassifiable, enjoying a post-punk chart success denied to The Sex Pistols and The Clash.

As with Elvis Presley in 1956, the Beatles three February appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show were landmarks moments in popular culture, effectively marking the beginning of the british Invasion and the greatest love affair of any country for any band in history.
Ken Regan is one of America's top political, sports and rock photographers. Photographer's stamp on verso.

DEBBIE HARRY - BLONDIE, c.1977.

Original 6.5"x8.5" Chalkie Davies photograph.

Very likely from around the time of the release of 'Plastic Letters' and its UK hit single 'Denis'. Chalkie Davies was one of Britain's leading rock photographers, with extensive work for the NME in this period.

MARC BOLAN - T REX, Newcastle 1977.

Original 8"x10" Paul Canty photograph.

Almost certainly from the 10th Feb. 1977 'Dandy in the Underworld' tour date at Newcastle City Hall, with The Dammed in support.
Bolan's career enjoyed a sadly cut-short resurgence in the early years of Punk, of which he was a keen supporter.
